Butterfly A few words about me

The short version

I earned my BA in English with a teaching certificate from Nebraska Wesleyan University in December of 2003.  I taught full-time for six years and have now decided to pursue my interest in web design, while substitute teaching occasionally.

I was raised on a Valley County farm for the first 18 years of my life. I built my first (admittedly rudimentary) website as a high school sophomore.

After graduation, I pursued a degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. I found I had a passion for English and teaching, and after declaring my major, I became very involved in both the English and Education Departments. I was Co-Chair of the Student Education Association (SEA) and President of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honorary.

Education meets technology

As Co-Chair of the SEA, one of my duties was to maintain the organization's website. During this time, I was also a participant in a grant to incorporate more technology in the classroom. As part of this grant, I helped an established teacher build a website for her classroom. I also completed a website as part of my regular coursework.

Moving into my career as a web designer, I am ready to help clients not only with the technical and design aspects of creating or updating a website, but also with the daunting task of deciding on the information and wording to include next to the pictures and graphics.

On a personal note...

My husband and I grew up in Ord, Nebraska, and recently moved back to Ord from eastern Nebraska. We enjoy being close to family and friends again and sharing the rural Nebraska life with our children.

What I offer

I offer a well-rounded skillset, enabling me to complete every step of your website, from concept to launch, without having to rely on subcontractors. I have training and experience in oral and written communication, technology, and design. I also have experience in photography and editing.

My personal completion of each level of the project saves you time and stress, since you only have to explain your ideas once before seeing them implemented.
